The mid-2012 Retina Display MacBookPro have model identifiers McaBookPro9,1 or 9,2. The late-2012 Retina display models are MackBookPro10,1. If you’re struggling to find your ModelIdentifier try the WikiPedia MacBook Pro page or try the EveryMac site.
once your pkg is downloaded, double click it and install to a folder on your hard drive so you know where to find it.
Copy them to a usb drive, or a burnable CD. NB, it’s still 660MB or more, so it’s a full CDs worth of burning time.
How to Open BootCamp driver download or other pkg or dmg file on Windows 7 or 8 with 7-Zip
-Get a copy of 7-zip, 7-zip.org
-Launch 7-zip and open the BootCampESD.pkg.
-Inside you’ll find a Payload file and a few other files. Double click the Payload file.
-Inside is a folder, which you double click. Inside that another folder, which you double click. Inside that … just keep clicking down the levels of nested folders.
-Eventually, several levels down, you’ll get to a file called 0.Apple_ISO or some such.
-Drag that to the desktop. Then rename it to Apple.iso. It’s important that you’re changing the extension to .iso so that Windows recognises it as a disc image.
-Double click that, and there are you driver installers. Drag them out onto a folder on your desktop and then run the installer.
