    How to Jailbreak iOS 6.0-6.1.2

Here are some important points to note before you proceed.

This guide is meant for iPhone users. We’ll have a guide for iPad and iPod touch shortly.
    evasion performs an untethered jailbreak
    evasi0n supports iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS
Please do not forget to backup your iPhone to iCloud or iTunes before you proceed.
Please ensure you’ve updated iTunes to the latest version.
    evasi0n is compatible with iOS 6.1.2, 6.1, iOS 6.0.2, iOS 6.0.1, iOS 6 (Settings -> General -> About – Version)
Warning: If you depend on Ultrasn0w to unlock your iPhone, then do not update to iOS 6.1.2 You should wait for the dev teams to release Redsn0w or PwnageTool that adds support for iOS 6.x untethered jailbreak, which will allow you to create a custom iOS firmware file, which will allow you to update to iOS 6.1 while preserving the baseband
Please note that jailbreaking your iPhone may void your warranty and hence proceed with caution and at your own risk
Please do not jailbreak your iPhone to pirate apps from the App Store

Step 1: Download the latest version of evasion jailreak from this link and save it in a folder named “evasi0n” on your desktop.

Here are the Evasi0n Download Links.
    evasi0n 1.5.3 for Mac OS X
    evasi0n 1.5.3 for Windows
    evasi0n 1.5.3 for Linux

Step 2: Double click the evasi0n zip file and extract the application to the evasi0n folder (Windows users). Navigate to the evasion application and launch it.

Windows users: Please launch the application as an Administrator. Right Click on the evasion exe and select the “Run as Administrator” option.

Step 3: After launching evasi0n, you will be prompted to connect your iPhone.

Step 4: Please disable the passcode as the jailbreak may fail, if the passcode is enabled (Settings -> General -> Passcode Lock On -> Turn Passcode Off).

Step 5: After the passcode is disabled, connect your iPhone to the computer. evasi0n should detect your iPhone and also mention the iOS firmware that is running on it. Click on the Jailbreak button.

After clicking on the Jailbreak button the tool will give a progress update on the various stages of the jailbreak process such as:

Retrieving information from the device to general jailbreak data
    Preparing stage 1 jailbreak data
    Injecting stage 1 jailbreak data
Waiting for device reboot (do not touch your device)
Waiting for device to be ready (do not touch your device)
Preparing stage 2 jailbreak data (do not touch your device)
Injecting stage 2 jailbreak data (Step 1/3)
Injecting stage 2 jailbreak data (Step 2/3)
Injecting stage 2 jailbreak data (Step 3/3)
    Unloading Cydia
    Unloading Cydia packages list
Please wait patiently while the jailbreaking process is running, don’t start iTunes or Xcode in the meanwhile. The process may take 5 minutes.

Step 6: Once the process is complete, you will get a message informing you to unlock your iPhone. Do not close the evasi0n application. Unlock your iPhone and then tap on the Jailbreak app (the one with the evasi0n icon).

Step 7: When you launch the evasi0n app, the screen will go black for a second and exit. Don’t worry, this will start the next stage of the jailbreak process.

Step 8: The tool will again give you progress update on the next stage of the jailbreak process such as:

    Remouting data
    Injecting final jailbreak data
Step 9: Once it is done, it will give a message informing you that the “Jailbreak complete! The device may restart a few times as it completes the process”.

Step 10: The rest of the jailbreak process will now take place on your iPhone. You will see the evasion icon on your iPhone with the status as the jailbreak process is going on such as loading Cydia, Rebooting, Initializing offsets, Cleaning up…, Done! Continuing boot.

Step 11: After your iPhone has rebooted, you’re done. It has been successfully jailbroken and you should be able to find the Cydia icon on your iPhone’s home screen (it may not be on the first page so search for it to locate it).

Please note if the process gets stuck in the middle, it’s safe to restart the process, hardware reset your iOS device (if necessary by holding down Hold and Home until it shuts down), and rerun the process.

Note: evad3rs dev team had strongly recommended upgrading to iOS 6.1 doing a full restore using iTunes. So if you had upgraded to iOS 6.1 using the OTA option or using iTunes and are having problems jailbreaking your iOS device with evasi0n, then try doing a full restore using iTunes and then try jailbreaking again to see if it works.

                          Downgrade iOS 5.1.1 To 5.0.1 On iPhone 4S, iPad 2, 5.1 On iPad 3 Using Redsn0w [How-To Tutorial]

The iPhone Dev Team has released the updated version of their Redsn0w tool which was teased a while back on Twitter by MuscleNerd. The update as you’d expect is a very significant one, and brings with it the support for downgrading the iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the new 3rd-gen iPad to an earlier version of iOS 5 from iOS 5.1.1.

All the A4-based devices can be downgraded swiftly at this point in time, and the whole process is a piece of cake. The only major requirement being; you must have your SHSH blobs+APTicket saved in a safe place, either locally on your PC or Mac, or on Cydia.

The iPhone 4S, the iPad 2 and the new 3rd-gen iPad have been out of the downgrading scene for quite a while, courtesy their “secure” hardware. But, the latest release of Redsn0w changes all that, and allows the average Joe to downgrade their devices smoothly, without even requiring iTunes.

At this point however, it’s worth noting that the iPhone 4S can be downgraded all the way to iOS 5.0 from 5.1.1, same goes for the iPad 2, which means that you can essentially use Absinthe to untether jailbreak both iPhone 4S and iPad 2 on 5.0.1, but the new 3rd-gen iPad can’t be downgraded beyond iOS 5.1, since it is the version of iOS it originally shipped with. This, combined with A5X processor in iPad 3 means that you unfortunately cant jailbreak it as yet. And like I mentioned before, if you have SHSH blobs saved for the version of iOS you want to downgrade to for your device, only then the downgrade process is possible.

Before we begin, let’s go through the things you’ll need for the whole process:

An iPhone 4S, iPad 2 or a 3rd-gen iPad whose SHSH blobs are saved on Cydia, or locally.
The latest version of Redsn0w [Windows/Mac]
                          30-pin USB connector cable.

If you don’t have your blobs saved for the version of iOS you want to downgrade to, then following the this guide won’t do you any good. Having your SHSH blobs saved is a key requirement for the whole downgrade process to take place, otherwise it’s a no-go. If you ever launched Cydia on iPhone 4S or iPad 2 while Apple was still signing iOS 5.0.1, then Cydia server could have them automatically saved for you.
Due to the way this method works, it first upgrades your device to the latest firmware version available, which in turn upgrades the baseband too. Therefore all iPhone unlockers are advised to stay away from this downgrade method.
This Redsn0w version is designed to downgrade A5+ devices only, for A4 and below devices, use the older versions of Redsn0w.
                          All set? Let’s begin:

                          Step 1: Launch the new Redsn0w 0.9.11b1 (Windows / Mac ).

Step 2: Connect your iOS device to your PC or Mac using the 30-pin USB cable.

Step 3: Now, click on Extras.

Step 4: You will be taken to a new screen, now click on Even More.

                          Step 5: Click on Restore.

Step 6: You should now see three different options on the screen; IPSW, Local and Remote. Click on IPSW, and point Redsn0w to the firmware file to which you want to downgrade to. Redsn0w will then ask you for the stock iOS 5.1.1 firmware.

Step 7a: If you have your blobs saved locally, then simply click on Local and point Redsn0w to the .plist file containing the SHSH blobs for your device. Move on to Step 7b if you don’t have your blobs saved locally.

Step 7b: Click on Remote if your blobs are saved on Cydia. Redsn0w should automatically put your device into Recovery mode to fetch the necessary files from Cydia’s servers.

                          Step 8: Click Next.

Step 9: At this point, Redsn0w will automatically stitch the SHSH blobs to the IPSW firmware file which you provided, and then it will automatically restore to it. Sit back, the process might take a while depending on your PC or Mac.

                          Step 10: That’s it, you’re done.

The whole purpose of downgrading is to roll back to the version of iOS which can be easily jailbroken untethered using existing tools. In the case of the iPhone 4S and iPad 2, both said devices can be jailbroken using Absinthe, you can follow the complete step-by-step guide posted here on how to do so.
